Bhagwan @ Large

Links, pictures, and scribblings from my never-ending program of dissipation.

I have made

Jambalaya.

I have made quite a lot of it.

It contains the following ingredients, and I require people to come eat it.

  1. 1 cup Jasmine rice (cooked), with 2 oz of Friday’s sauce
  2. 1/2 pound Grilled chicken Breast
  3. 8 oz spiced chicken sausage
  4. 8 oz black beans, sasoned with red pepper, jerk spices, onion and lime
  5. 8 oz 3 bean spicy paste
  6. 4 roma tomatoes
  7. 1/2 cup diced pineapple
  8. 1/2 cup Barefoot Merlot ( a blend)
  9. 1 tbsp vegetable oil, mixed with spices and reduced
  10. 3 cups water.

there is also a 1/2 pound of fresh cooked and peeled shrimp (from Oregon), which will be added to a separate batch in about 1 hour. Some folks are sensitive to such things.

And tonight’s movie will be The 300. Followed by a showing of Ghost Rider.

Call if you must, write if you want. But if you can read this, you are welcome.

WHAT? No Flour, Oil and Water? Jumbalaya is all about the roux!. In order to make REALLY good jumbalaya I almost always have to make the roux twice because I tend to overcook it the first time.

Silly Bhagwan! You come over – I show you how to cook up a jumbalaya Right!

  2. You’ll note ingredients 5, 9 and 10. To “spice things up” I used bean paste as part of the roux.

Also, I hav issues with flour. The gluten in the rice was bad enough.

I received nothing but happiness reports. So Nyah!
