Books

I taught myself to read when I as very young, because grown-ups could read, and I could not. I have fond memories of my aunt reading the Wizard of Oz to me, and my mother was constantly reading something.

I had to keep up, you see.

Since then, I estimate I've read well over 10,000 books. And unlike Wilt Chamberlain, I remember most of them. I used to read two or three a day, and although my consumption has slacked off somewhat in recent years, it has not stopped.

Many people I know maintain a link to the current book they are reading. I usually read too fast to do so, but I'll try from now on. Here's where I am now, back to the first of January, 2005. We'll see where I am next year.

Or, at least I will, anyway.
